Hi again, sorry. I just clicked the link but I think you added an extra e in explorer, but i found the site. I never knew of this one, it's awesome. I love the reciter mishari-rishad, his voice is one of the best. Thanks for posting this site!
Agh, sorry again. I was just perusing the site. If you launch the quran explorer, I recommend using the yusuf ali english translation because he uses more modern english, although it doesn't do justice to the arabic. Arabic is much richer than english and a lot of other languages. For example, we would say, "I stubbed my toe, it hurt." In arabic, it would be like, "My toe smashed against the unforgiving rock, the pain was like that of a thousand angry elephants." Someone else explained it that way and I thought it was a good way of putting it! Also, if you're not very keen on going in order, I recommend surahs 39 and 55, I like to read those often. Aminah, thanks for the insights. The language thing has been difficult to understand. What I mean is that I have heard if you haven't read the Koran in Arabic, you haven't read it. Your example clarifies some of the translation issues. I am sure that it gets a whole lot deeper than that, but that gives me a taste.
I will be going slow here. Bt I am going to make my way.
